This is how you get through Christmas sober

Tonight is the day. Then the Christmas party begins. A little more sober than usual, but still... With a small club you can celebrate the most beautiful days of the year. You used to drink a drink or one, two, three… You can read here how to spend this Christmas cozy and sober.

Alcohol-free holidays. Yes, you just do it. Still, it's not strange if you feel like a glass of bubbly or whatever during these days. Your table mates will probably toast with something alcoholic. They might still offer you a drink: 'Because that's fun, isn't it?' Dealing with these temptations and the pressure to say 'no' is quite difficult. But with our tips you are strong.

Tip 1. Good preparation is half the battle

Are you the hostess or hostess? Then make sure you have your favorite non-alcoholic drink at home. But even if you sit at someone else's Christmas table, bring your own alternative. This way you know for sure that you also have something delicious / festive to drink. Looking for inspiration? Take a look at our recipe page.

Tip 2. Find a buddy

Sooner or later, alcohol will come into play during Christmas. It is accidentally put in front of you without being asked or everyone drinks alcohol except you… how nice is it that you have asked someone from the company beforehand to support you during difficult moments. A buddy can come in handy. Just the feeling that someone is supporting you can make a big difference. And remember: you wake up fresh and fruity tomorrow.

Tip 3. Departure at the peak

So much food and drinks further on and things get looser and more jolly. Cozy, but if you think that's a bit too much of a good thing, you'll leave at the peak. If the atmosphere is still good. You had a great night and everyone else had a great night, but with a headache the next morning.

And then this:

Live in the now and enjoy

Due to concerns about corona and everything it touches, you would almost forget to enjoy the moments you are together. So whether or not corona, whether or not an alcohol break; consciously enjoying Christmas is important. It gives you energy. For some this is a long walk in the woods with the dog on Christmas morning and for others a carefully prepared meal. Get out what's in it.

you can handle anything

If you survive the Christmas season sober, you can handle anything. Challenge yourself and spend more occasions sober. You will see that -if the weather is possible and allowed- that network drink without drinks is doable. That a wedding party without alcohol has many advantages and that a movie night with drinks other than alcohol is also just fun.

Proud as a peacock

And lastly, be proud. You do it beautifully. In a month of food and drink you still pause. Thumbs up for yourself!
