Cravings

Now that the end of the 40 days is not a drop of challenge in sight, my cravings are starting to increase. My brain thinks: Yoohooo, soon I can have a glass of wine again! Well, that was not exactly the intention. My goal with the IkPas periods is to ensure that alcohol plays a minimal role in my life. I think that I am only really free from dependence or addiction when alcohol has become unimportant to me. I'm clearly not there yet.

I'm not quite sure yet how I'm going to tackle the period after IkPas. Will I continue to fit on willpower? Want to read more books about alcohol? Both strategies have helped somewhat, but not enough. Or am I just going to take the focus off alcohol for a while for myself? Luckily I still have a few days to think about it.

In the meantime, I am really enjoying the beginning of spring. It is longer light, the temperatures are rising slightly, I see buds and flowers everywhere. I am very lucky to have a large vegetable garden behind my house. Everything has already been turned and the first plants are sprouting on the windowsill. I'm really excited to get started in the garden!

Furthermore, I am still(!) in a clearing mood. The barn has undergone a transformation last weekend, the bulky waste has stopped by and has taken a lot with it, the house is fresh and tidy. It feels wonderful! The children needed some encouragement to help and put their own things in the dishwasher, for example. But things are getting better and they seem to like the fact that it's so tidy.

Finally, my new bike rides great. I was severely affected by COVID-19 in the autumn and have not yet regained my fitness, but I am cycling more and more and harder. I am really looking forward to long bike rides when the weather is really nice!

By the way, leave that wine alone; plenty of nicer things to look forward to.
