The best podcasts of July

Are you not much of a movie watcher and series lover? Or are you just an all-round viewing, reading and listening fan? In any case, podcasts have become an integral part of the media landscape. One of the greatest benefits of podcasts is that you can listen to them whenever and wherever you want. You don't want to miss this one.

In podcast land there is something for everyone. Athlete, crime enthusiast, psychology fan: name a preference and there is a podcast for it. In this month of July, just like in all other months, there is a top ten to discover. In other words: these are the podcasts that keep the Netherlands glued to the AirPods.

  1. The stand. Sports fans pay attention, De Tribune does not miss anything when it comes to sports news. Two guests give their opinion and look at the sports news of that week.
  2. Marc-Marie & Aaf Find Something. What do they think? Well, of what not. From Airfryer to the color of the OV chip card, nothing remains unspoken. Light food that makes many chores more bearable.
  3. In The Wheel. Do you love cycling and everything related to this sport? Then the podcast In Het Wiel is just the thing for you. Thijs Zonneveld, Hidde van Warmerdam and interesting guests from the cycling peloton talk extensively about cycling, racing and asphalt.
  4. the people's jury. The so-called cold cases fascinate many immensely. Laura and Silke irresponsibly speculate about unsolved murder cases.
  5. Welcome To The AA. Contrary to what the title suggests, this is not a podcast especially for alcoholics. The Belgians Alex Agnew and Andries Beckers talk to guests from home and abroad about everything that interests them.
  6. Another exciting podcast. In their podcast series, Carrie and Eddie discuss high-profile murder cases that remain unsolved to this day.
  7. #weet too much. Call it and they try to find out at #weetikveel. Think about the shrugging shoulders. The ladies Esther and Josephine of Cosmopolitan are looking for answers to (life) questions such as: how do you really get a pay increase, what are the advantages of being highly sensitive and is happiness something that happens to you?
  8. Lotte Goes Deep. In Lotte Goes Deep, famous Flemish people talk about various topics: from the influence of becoming a mom/dad on your sex life to insecurities during dating, being single, the first time and the importance of friendships. Maybe something for the big teenager at home?
  9. Modern Love. What's it like to love in 2021? In recent years, Corine Koole saw how labels faded and how the boundaries between love and friendship became less sharp. In Modern Love, people tell Koole about their personal search for love and friendship.
  10. NRC Today. In the podcast NRC Today, the editors of NRC bring one news story in audio every working day in a maximum of twenty minutes. No overview of the news, but one story every day in the form of a conversation between the presenter and one or more editors of NRC. The podcast is presented by NRC journalists Thomas Rueb, Floor Boon and Geertje Tuenter.

Encore: The Taghi Podcast has come in at number 1 in the past week. Ridouan Taghi is the notorious prime suspect in the multiple liquidation case Marengo. Paul Vugts, crime reporter for Het Parool, has been following him for years. Corrie Gerritsma talks with him in this podcast about Taghi's unlikely bloodlust, his youth, the liquidations he is suspected of and his influence on the rule of law.
